Yu was playing computer games in the Study. Mommy was having her almond biscuits-and-milo breakfast at the dining table. Yu walked out and asked Mommy a question.
Yu : "Mommy, what is a lair?"
Mommy : "Huh?? There is no such word as lair. You can have hair, pair but not lair." (Mommy dipped the sugar coated almond biscuit into the warm mug of milo.)
Yu : "Mommy, is lair a place where tiger lives?"
Mommy : "?!? Yu, do you mean liar? L-I-A-R. A liar is someone who tells lies."
Yu stood there and still waiting for an acceptable answer.
Mommy : "Ok, I check it out for you."
Mommy flips the very thick Oxford Children's Dictionary which was just next to her and much to her surprise......
Mommy : "Yes! Lair is a place where wild animals live. A tiger is a wild animal."
Yu's face brightened up and ran back to her computer.
(tsk tsk tsk. It's time Mommy reads the dictionary.)
