Library Book Review - A Pen Pal for Max

Max lived in a small house on a huge fruit farm in Chile, South America. Max's father worked in the farms' vineyard. He said the grapes will be packed in boxes and loaded onto refrigerated freighters and shipped to many different countries. Max thinks it would be fun to have a friend in a faraway place. He wrote a note : "Hello, my name is Maximiliano Farias. I would like to be your friend. Please write to me". Max does not know what to expect when he slips this note into a box of grapes hdeaded to United States. He is thrilled when he receives a response from a girl named Maggie, and the two quickly become pen pals. Then one day Max's home in Chile is hit by a huge earthquake, and his school must be shut down because of the damages. When the school finally reopens, a surprise is waiting for Max that shows him he has even more faraway friends than he thought. Maggie and her classmates has sent Max and his classmates boxes filled with books, games, papers, pens and even new clothes. In one box there was a picture of his friend Maggie and her classmates, along with a short letter. Grace enjoys reading this heart warming story about friendship.
